Team India will take the field in the upcoming Asia Cup without a sponsor. Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, the team’s jerseys will not feature any primary sponsor logo during the tournament.

The development comes after the Indian government recently banned all platforms related to online betting and gaming. On August 21, 2025, the Promotion and Regulation of Gaming Bill was passed, directly impacting the team’s main sponsor, Dream11. Although the contract was valid until 2026, the online fantasy gaming platform was forced to terminate its deal with the BCCI due to the new law.

As a result, India will begin the Asia Cup campaign sponsorless. The BCCI has already invited tenders for a new sponsor. Interested companies must submit a non-refundable deposit of INR 5 lakh (USD 5,675 for foreign entities) by September 12 to collect application forms. The deadline for submitting tenders is September 16.

However, for the initial matches, India will have to play without any logo on their jerseys. The BCCI has clarified that companies related to alcohol, betting and gambling sites, cryptocurrency, online money-gaming platforms, tobacco products, or any entity deemed unethical will not be eligible to apply. Once a new sponsor is finalized, the deal will remain valid until 2028.

Team India will depart for the UAE on Thursday, September 4. In this edition, India has been placed in Group A alongside UAE, Pakistan, and Oman. Group B consists of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.
