Today, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Super Four stage. Both teams were in the same group earlier in the tournament, where Bangladesh suffered defeat. However, the Tigers still carry the memory of beating Sri Lanka in a T20I series on their home soil. That’s why Bangladesh’s Australian pace bowling coach, Shaun Tait, wants his side to forget the previous loss in the Asia Cup and step onto the field with renewed energy against Sri Lanka.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the Super Four clash, Tait said, “We have played Sri Lanka recently, so both teams know each other very well. In the last game, they were ahead of us, but this will be a good contest. We are focusing on our job and preparing for what lies ahead.”

Tait further added, “The best thing about this tournament is that matches come thick and fast. When games are played back-to-back, it helps to quickly forget the past and focus on the next challenge. This keeps the team mentally strong.”

Bangladesh also face a challenging Asia Cup schedule, with two matches on consecutive days. On this, Tait remarked, “The schedule is what it is. We train today and play tomorrow. In modern cricket, we have specialists for recovery, data analysis, and physical conditioning, so our job is to give our best effort. Personally, I don’t think too much about these things. We just stick to our plans and hope to deliver good cricket.”

Highlighting the team’s confidence going into the Sri Lanka match, the Tigers’ coach concluded, “We know each other well. These kinds of matches are mentally challenging, so we must be ready.”
