After a narrow 3-wicket defeat in Sylhet, Bangladesh trail Zimbabwe 1–0 in the two-match Test series. To level the series, Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s side must secure a win in the second and final Test, starting today at the Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine won the toss and chose to bat first. Bangladesh made a few changes to their playing XI: opener Anamul Haque Bijoy replaced Mahmudul Hasan Joy, while debutant pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib came in for Nahid Rana, who is currently in Pakistan for the PSL. Spinner Nayeem Hasan was also included, replacing Khaled Ahmed, as Bangladesh opted for an extra spinner.
For Zimbabwe, a win would mark another historic triumph on Bangladeshi soil, while the hosts are desperate to bounce back and draw the series. Anamul Haque Bijoy will open alongside Sadman Islam. With Nahid Rana absent, Bangladesh is banking on young Tanzim Hasan Sakib to fill the gap in their pace attack.
The match, which started at 10:00 AM local time, is being broadcast live on Bangladesh Television (BTV).
