The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh as a brand ambassador for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. This announcement follows the inclusion of Chris Gayle and Usain Bolt as brand ambassadors. Yuvraj, known for his match-winning performances, notably hit six sixes in an over during a T20 World Cup match.
Yuvraj's powerful batting left a memorable impact on cricket fans. The left-handed batsman was known for his ability to break open the game with his robust hitting.
It is worth recalling Yuvraj's heroics during the 2007 T20 World Cup, which India won. This was the inaugural edition of the twenty-over World Cup. One of the most unforgettable moments came during a Super Eight match against England, where Yuvraj had a heated exchange with Andrew Flintoff. Following this, Yuvraj faced Stuart Broad in the next over and spectacularly hit six consecutive sixes. He achieved a half-century in just 12 balls, cementing the innings in cricket history.
On his appointment as a brand ambassador, Yuvraj expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "The T20 World Cup holds some of my most exciting cricket moments, including the over where I hit six sixes. I am thrilled to be part of this new edition, which promises to be a significant event."
The T20 World Cup is set to start on June 2, hosted by the USA and West Indies, with a total of 55 matches scheduled in the tournament.
