India has finally broken their 11-year trophy drought by winning the T20 World Cup. The champion team has received a significant amount of prize money from the ICC. Additionally, after winning the World Cup, the BCCI announced a reward of ₹1.25 billion (more than BDT 1.75 billion). This amount is six times more than what they received from the ICC. Now, it has been revealed who will receive how much from this money.
The allocated money for the Indian cricket team will be distributed not only among the players but also the coaches and support staff. A total of 42 individuals, including players, coaches, and support staff, traveled to the United States and the West Indies for this World Cup. The total amount will be divided among these 42 people.
According to a report from the Indian Express, each of the 15 players in the World Cup squad will receive ₹50 million. Even those who did not play any matches will receive the same amount. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal, who did not play in any matches, will each receive ₹50 million.
Additionally, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid, will also receive ₹50 million. Thus, 16 individuals will receive ₹50 million each from BCCI's ₹1.25 billion reward, totaling ₹800 million. The remaining ₹450 million will be distributed among the remaining 26 individuals.
Among the remaining 26 are Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed, who were reserve players. They will each receive ₹10 million.
Among the coaching staff, batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T. Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey will each receive ₹25 million. The selection committee will receive ₹10 million each, and the support staff will receive ₹20 million each.
