What Tamim Iqbal said about coming in charge of BCB?

A few days ago, Tamim Iqbal announced his retirement from international cricket. There had already been rumors about the possibility of seeing this opener in a prominent role with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). With his retirement from cricket, these speculations have gained more momentum. So, what does Tamim himself have to say about it? He shared his thoughts during a recent press conference.

On Thursday, Tamim’s team, Fortune Barishal, played against Dhaka Capitals in the BPL. Tamim played a key role, scoring 61 runs off 48 balls, and led his team to victory. After the match, during the press conference, Tamim addressed questions about his future, saying:

"I will try as long as... Now, I am retired, so I will qualify for the Legends League as well. I will play those tournaments. If the Premier League happens on time, I will play that too. If I remain fit, I will keep playing as much as I can. My focus is on the game."

Despite the win, there was a hint of regret in Tamim’s voice. According to him, Fortune Barishal could have finished the match quicker to boost their net run rate. He said, "We needed to play a bit faster in the middle. If we could have finished within 14 overs... we had wickets in hand. I think that’s one trick we missed."

He also shared his thoughts on this year's BPL, saying, "If you look at it, BPL is going well this year. Runs have been scored in Dhaka and Sylhet. There have been spectators. The most important thing is that such pitches are necessary for T20s."
