West Indies Clinch Series with 8-Wicket Win Over England
West Indies secured a series victory over England with an 8-wicket win in the decider. After losing the first ODI, England had leveled the series in the second match. However, centuries from Brandon King and Keacy Carty sealed the win for West Indies, marking England’s third consecutive ODI series defeat.
In the final ODI at Bridgetown, England batted first after losing the toss and posted 263/8 in their 50 overs. Opener Phil Salt was England’s top scorer with 74 runs, hitting four fours and a six. After losing five wickets for 94 runs, Dan Mousley provided stability, scoring 57 off 70 balls. Sam Curran contributed 40, while Jofra Archer’s late cameo of 38* off 17 balls boosted the total. For West Indies, Matthew Forde claimed three wickets.
Chasing 264, West Indies lost opener Evin Lewis early for 19. However, Brandon King and Keacy Carty formed a 209-run partnership off 203 balls, steering their team to a comfortable victory. King scored 102 off 117 balls, while Carty, achieving his maiden century, remained unbeaten with an impressive 128 off 114 balls, ensuring the win with 42 balls to spare.
Brandon King was named Player of the Match, while Matthew Forde earned the Player of the Series award. The three-match T20I series between England and West Indies is set to begin on November 10.
