West Indies Announced T20 World Cup Squad
ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be Co Hosted by West Indies. Today (May 3), the hosts West Indies announced their T20 World Cup squad.
Rovman Powell leads the squad of 15 members. Experienced cricketers like Jason Holder and Andre Russell are also part of the squad.
Shamar Joseph shines with a remarkable performance against Australia in test, earning himself a spot in the squad as a uncapped cricketer. Given the opportunity, his international T20 coronation could grace the World Cup stage.
Despite missing the T20I series against Australia, Shimron Hetmyer has made a comeback, fueled by his impressive display for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
Kyle Mayers has been sidelined, while Oshane Thomas fails to secure a spot in the squad.
Johnson Charles, Brandon King, and Shai Hope are among the selected players. Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd bring their batting prowess to the forefront.
In the spin department, there's Akeal Hossain and Gudakesh Motie. Alzarri Joseph leads the pace attack, supported by his companion, Shamra Joseph.

West Indies are placed in Group C of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Their opponents in the group stage include Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda. West Indies will kickstart their World Cup campaign on June 2, facing Papua New Guinea in Guyana.
It's noteworthy that all teams have until May 25 to make changes to their squads. Any changes beyond that deadline will require approval from the ICC's Event Technical Committee.
