Walton-BSPA Sports Carnival to Begin on Tuesday

For the past 10 years, the Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) has been organizing a sports carnival for its members. And for the seventh time in 10 years, the country's renowned conglomerate Walton High-Tech Industries, PLC, has been sponsoring this event. The "Walton-BSPA Sports Carnival-2024" is set to commence from next Tuesday (May 14, 2024).

This time, BSPA's more than a hundred members will participate in a total of 10 events across seven disciplines. The events include Carom (singles and doubles), Table Tennis (singles and doubles), Chess, Shooting, Archery, Snooker, and Twenty-Nine. All these events will be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium and various associated venues.

The carnival will kick off with the Carom discipline at BSPA headquarters on Tuesday (May 14, 2024) at 11 am. The opening ceremony of the sports carnival will be inaugurated by F.M. Ikbal Bin Anwar (Don), Senior Managing Director of Walton High-Tech Industries, PLC, and Robiul Islam Milton, Senior Deputy Executive Director. 

As usual, the best athletes of the carnival will be awarded the Abdul Mannan Ladu Trophy and cash prizes. The trophy and cash prizes will be awarded to the top two runners-up. In addition, there will be crests and cash prizes for the winners of each event.

For more details about the Walton-BSPA Sports Carnival, a press conference was held today (May 12) in the conference room of the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Present at the press conference were BSPA President Rejwan Uz Zaman Rajib, Walton High-Tech Industries, PLC's Senior Managing Director F.M. Ikbal Bin Anwar (Don), Senior Deputy Executive Director Robiul Islam Milton, BSPA SG Mo. Samon Hossain, and Sports Subcommittee Chairman Kazi Shahidul Alam.

Expressing gratitude to Walton at the press conference, BSPA President said, "Like before, Walton Group has extended its friendly hand to our event. Not only BSPA, but Walton Group has also been seen supporting various events in the sports arena during this time. We express our special gratitude to Walton Group in today's press conference.
