Visa Issues Resolved, Nasum and Nahid Boarded the Flight
Last night, the first ODI between Bangladesh and Afghanistan concluded in a significant defeat for Bangladesh in Sharjah, UAE. However, team members Nasum Ahmed and Nahid Rana were still in Bangladesh due to visa complications. Although they missed the first match, there was good news for both players as their visa issues have been resolved, allowing them to board the flight to the UAE this morning.
For the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh had initially announced a 15-member squad. However, with visas delayed for Nasum and Nahid, 13 players traveled to the UAE in two separate groups. From this group of 13, the team management selected the playing XI for the first match.
Prior to the first match, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed confidence in a press conference that both players would join the team soon. His words held true, as Nasum and Nahid will be joining the Tigers' squad today.
With their visas secured on Wednesday, Nasum Ahmed and Nahid Rana boarded the flight to the UAE on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. The remaining two ODIs in the series are scheduled to take place on November 9 and 11.
