Travis Head Opens Up About On-Field Altercation with Mohammad Siraj
Travis Head stole the spotlight during the Adelaide Test with a brilliant 140-run knock, leaving India struggling to recover. However, after his dismissal, which came through a Mohammad Siraj delivery, Head was seen getting into a heated argument with the bowler. This incident has sparked discussions, and Head has now shared his side of the story.
After being stumped off Siraj's delivery, Head was seen saying something to the Indian bowler. The situation escalated when Siraj responded, prompting Head to indicate that Siraj should leave the field. In an interview with Fox Sports, Head explained, "I told him he bowled a good ball. But Siraj seemed to have taken it the wrong way and gestured for me to go to the pavilion. I think he took offense from something I said. I'm a little disappointed about it. Given the way I've been playing in recent innings, this was bound to happen. If they want to react like this and represent themselves in that way, that’s fine."
Head admitted that he was frustrated by Siraj's reaction and felt the situation was beyond what is acceptable. "It wasn’t the first time something like this has happened during the series, and on the first day of the match, tempers flared as well. I think this crosses the line. I don’t want to spend too much time on it, but personally, I would’ve preferred a better response to the situation," Head added.
The Australian batter also stated that he was surprised by Siraj's reaction during that moment. "I had no personal conflict with him. I just reacted to his behavior on the field," Head concluded.
