Taskin Ahmed Takes 7 Wickets in BPL!

Taskin Ahmed has created a remarkable record in T20 cricket by becoming the third bowler in history to take 7 wickets in a single T20 match. He now holds the record for the best bowling figures in the history of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Taskin has also moved into the top two in the list of highest wicket-takers in BPL history. This is the first time Taskin has taken 7 wickets in an innings across all formats, marking several records under his name.

In today's match at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla against Dhaka Capitals, Taskin bowled 4 overs, conceding just 19 runs and claiming 7 wickets. With this remarkable performance, he broke Mohammad Amir's record for the best bowling figures in BPL history. Amir had taken 6 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs against Rajshahi while playing for Khulna in 2020. Taskin's 7-wicket haul now surpasses Amir's record, setting a new benchmark in BPL.

Additionally, Taskin has become only the third bowler in recognized T20 cricket history to take 7 wickets in an innings. Before him, only two bowlers had achieved this feat in T20 internationals: Colin Ackermann from the Netherlands and Syazrul Idrus from Malaysia.

Taskin now holds the best-ever bowling figures by a Bangladeshi bowler in recognized T20 cricket. Previously, Shakib Al Hasan held the record with 6 wickets for 6 runs in 4 overs for Barbados Tridents in the 2013 Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Taskin's performance today of 4-0-19-7 has now surpassed that, setting a new high for Bangladesh.

Moreover, Taskin has climbed to second place in the list of highest wicket-takers in BPL history, just behind Shakib Al Hasan. Having played 80 matches, Taskin has now taken 112 wickets, surpassing Rubel Hossain, who took 110 wickets in 88 matches.
