Taskin Ahmed Breaks Shakib Al Hasan’s BPL Record for Most Wickets in a Single Season

Taskin Ahmed has broken Shakib Al Hasan's record for the most wickets in a single BPL season. Previously, Shakib held the record with 23 wickets, which he took in 15 matches during the 2018-19 season for Dhaka Dynamites. However, in the ongoing BPL season, Taskin has already claimed 24 wickets in just 11 matches.

Shakib achieved his 23 wickets after playing 15 matches, while Taskin reached 24 wickets in just 11 games. With one match still remaining in the group stage for Durbar Rajshahi, Taskin has a great chance to add even more wickets to his tally.

Taskin reached the milestone on Sunday against Rangpur Riders, where he claimed the wicket of Rakibul Hasan. In the match, Taskin took 2 wickets. He had previously made a strong start to the season by taking 3 wickets in the very first match. In a stunning performance against Dhaka Capitals, he broke the world record by taking 7 wickets for just 19 runs. Over the next four matches, Taskin consistently took 2 wickets in each.
