Sylhet Strikers have lost toss and put to bat first

In an effort to avenge their previous loss, Sylhet Strikers are once again facing off against Rangpur Riders. After failing to put up a fight in the first phase in Dhaka, where Sylhet didn’t seem to challenge much, they are now determined to fight back in front of their home crowd. Sylhet's team, led by Ariful Haque, is set to play the most matches in the tournament on home ground, a total of five games.

Rangpur Riders’ captain Nurul Hasan Sohan won the toss and opted to bowl first, sending Sylhet Strikers in to bat.

The BPL has now moved from Dhaka to Sylhet for the next phase, which will run from January 6 to January 13. Sylhet is still searching for their first win. After losing the first match in Dhaka, captain Ariful Haque had mentioned that it’s too early to make any conclusions, and there’s plenty of time for a comeback. Today, Sylhet Strikers take the field, hoping to turn their fortunes around.

Rangpur Riders, on the other hand, are flying high with three wins from three matches and currently sit at the top of the points table. Will their winning streak continue with a fourth victory, or can Sylhet's home crowd turn the tide?

In their previous encounter, Rangpur Riders posted a total of 155 runs, and Sylhet Strikers fell short, managing only 121 runs in 20 overs, losing by 34 runs.

Rangpur Riders' XI: Alex Hales, Azizul Hakim Tamim, Toufik Khan, Saif Hassan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Nurul Hasan Sohan (captain), Mehedi Hasan, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Nahid Rana, Akif Javed.

Sylhet Strikers' XI: Rony Talukdar, George Munsey, Zakir Hasan, Paul Stirling, Zaker Ali Onik, Ariful Haque (captain), Samiullah Shinwari, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nihaduzzaman, Reece Topley, Al-Amin Hossain.
