South Africa-Pakistan T20 Series Decider Abandoned Due to Rain
The third and final T20 match of the South Africa vs. Pakistan series in Johannesburg was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. Unfortunately, the match could not even begin, and the much-anticipated decider was called off. South Africa, having already won the series after taking the first two games, will undoubtedly feel disappointed as they had the opportunity to whitewash Pakistan, which was disrupted by the weather.
In the second T20 match, South Africa secured a 7-wicket win to seal the series after Pakistan had already lost the first match by 11 runs. With two consecutive victories, South Africa claimed the series with a match still to spare.
The South African team now shifts focus to the upcoming ODI series, set to begin on December 17. The first match will take place in Paarl, with the second match scheduled for December 19 in Cape Town. The series will conclude with the third ODI in Johannesburg on December 22. Regular captain Temba Bavuma, who was sidelined due to an injury during the October ODI series against Ireland, will lead the side in the ODI series. However, Bavuma has returned to action in Test cricket in the meantime. Players like Kagiso Rabada, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, and Wayne Parnell also return to the ODI squad for the series.
