In the first innings of the first Test against West Indies, Pakistan were bowled out for 230 runs. Saud Shakil and Mohammad Rizwan both scored half-centuries. In response, the West Indies struggled with their batting and were all out for 137 runs, trailing Pakistan by 93 runs in the match.

At the Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. They found themselves in trouble early, losing 4 wickets for just 46 runs. However, a 141-run partnership between Saud Shakil and Mohammad Rizwan stabilised the innings. Shakil scored the highest for Pakistan, making 84 runs, including 6 boundaries, before being dismissed by Kevin Sinclair's delivery.

Pakistan’s collapse resumed as they continued to lose wickets. Rizwan was dismissed for 71 runs, including 9 boundaries, when he fell into an LBW trap off Kevin Sinclair’s bowling. In the lower order, Sajid Khan made 18 runs.

For West Indies, Jaden Seales and Jomel Warrican claimed 3 wickets each, while Kevin Sinclair took 2 wickets.

In reply, West Indies’ batting was in shambles from the start. By the end of day one, they had lost 10 wickets, finishing at just 91 runs. They managed to put up a partnership of 46 runs for the last wicket.

Six West Indies batsmen were dismissed for single digits. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite and Kevin Sinclair both made 11 runs. Gudakesh Motie contributed 19 runs. Warrican remained unbeaten at 31, which was the highest score for his team. The last batsman, Jaden Seales, scored 22 runs off 13 balls.

Pakistan's bowling was led by Noman Ali, who took a five-wicket haul, while Sajid Khan claimed 4 wickets. Abrar Ahmed took the final wicket.
