Rizwan stated, "All 15 players in my team are the captain of the Pakistan team"

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will begin tomorrow, February 19, with the opening match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand. As the defending champions, Pakistan has big expectations from the tournament, especially as it's being held on home soil. Just a few days ago, in the Triangular Series, Pakistan lost two matches, both of which were against New Zealand.

At the pre-tournament press conference, Pakistan's captain Mohammad Rizwan stated, "All 15 players in my team are the captain of the Pakistan cricket team."

"All my 15 players are like the captain of the team. I am here for the toss, but everyone is important. When we step onto the field, we are all united."

"Each player is desperate for this title. And we are doing everything we can to determine how to win. I don't think any country works as hard as we do."

The ICC Champions Trophy is being held after an eight-year gap. In the opening match, New Zealand will face hosts Pakistan at the Karachi National Stadium, with the match starting at 3 PM. Pakistan, playing at home, are considered favorites for the tournament.

In their first match, Pakistan will play as the relative underdogs. The Black Caps recently won the Triangular Series in Pakistan, remaining unbeaten. New Zealand, led by Mitchell Santner, has defeated Pakistan twice.
