Rishad Hossain Chooses BPL Over Big Bash, Remains on Bench for Fortune Barishal
Bangladesh's leg-spinner, Rishad Hossain, received praise after being offered an opportunity to play in the Big Bash League (BBL). However, due to a schedule clash with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), he decided to turn down the Big Bash and focus on playing for Fortune Barishal. Despite his intentions to play, he has found himself sitting on the bench, as Barishal's management has yet to include him in the playing XI.
Responding to questions from the media regarding Rishad's absence from the team, the coach of Fortune Barishal, Mizanur Rahman Babul, provided clarity.
Fortune Barishal has already played two matches in the BPL, and Rishad has not been included in the XI for either game. When asked about the possibility of him playing in future matches, coach Mizanur Rahman Babul said:
"Yes, Rishad is one of our important bowlers. It might be a matter of combination that is preventing him from playing. But remember, only two matches have been played. Rishad is definitely part of our plans."
He added, "Look, everyone is a professional player. The team comes first. The team must think about the right combination that will help us win. Tonight’s match required a different combination, and that’s why Rishad didn’t play. Only two matches have been played, and there’s still plenty of time. Rishad will definitely play, he is an important player for us."
In their most recent match, Fortune Barishal lost to Rangpur Riders. When asked about what went wrong in the match, the coach said, "When we were batting, everything seemed fine. In T20 or any other game, if a wicket falls, it can change the course of the game. We lost three consecutive wickets, and then more wickets fell lower down the order. We couldn’t manage to reach the target score we needed."
