Rain forces England-Australia T20I decider to be abandoned
The series-deciding T20I between Australia and England has been washed out due to persistent rain in Manchester, similar to the conditions in Bangladesh. The third T20I, which was supposed to determine the winner of the series, did not see a single ball bowled. The umpires did not even get the opportunity to conduct the toss due to the continuous rainfall. With no improvement in the weather, match officials declared the game abandoned.
As a result, the series between Australia and England ended in a 1-1 draw, with each team having won one match. In the first T20I, Australia demonstrated their dominance by defeating England by 28 runs on their home ground. England equalized the series in the second T20I by overcoming the Australians. The rain on the final day deprived both teams of the opportunity to secure a series win.
Following the conclusion of the T20I series, England and Australia will face off in a five-match ODI series starting on September 19. The ODI matches are scheduled to be held on September 19, 21, 24, 27, and 29.
