Pakistan Levels Series with a Massive Win Against Zimbabwe
With a commanding performance, Pakistan leveled the series against Zimbabwe, securing a 10-wicket victory in the second ODI. First, Pakistan's bowlers dismantled Zimbabwe for just 145 runs, followed by a scintillating century from Saim Ayub, sealing the win with 190 balls to spare.
The match, held at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, saw Zimbabwe opting to bat first after winning the toss. However, their innings faltered early as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Dion Myers (33) and Craig Ervine (18) tried to stabilize the innings but could only take the total to 68 before four wickets were down.
Shane Williams attempted a rescue mission with a 31-run knock off 39 balls, but his dismissal left the team in tatters. Pakistan's debutant Abrar Ahmed and Salman Agha led a ruthless bowling attack, bundling out Zimbabwe for 145 in just 32.3 overs. Abrar claimed 4 wickets, while Salman took 3.
Chasing a modest target of 146, Pakistan’s openers, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, dominated from the outset. Saim reached his half-century in just 32 balls and brought up his century in a mere 53 deliveries.
Thanks to their unbeaten partnership, Pakistan chased down the target in just 18.2 overs. Saim remained not out on a blistering 113 off 62 balls, laced with 17 fours and 3 sixes, while Shafique contributed an unbeaten 32 off 48 balls.
With this emphatic win, Pakistan leveled the three-match series 1-1 against Zimbabwe.
