Pakistan bowlers thought Morne Morkel was nothing, says Basit Ali
Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has claimed that Pakistani pacers, including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf, perceive themselves as superior to their former bowling coach, Morne Morkel. Ali, speaking on his YouTube channel, suggested that the bowlers considered Morkel as "nothing" in front of them.
Last year, Morkel served as Pakistan's bowling coach. Ali pointed to the recent 2-0 series loss to Bangladesh on home soil as indicative of the current gap between the Pakistan and Indian teams.
"We have seen the difference," he said. "This same Bangladesh team played against India, and they completely dominated Pakistan. The mindset, thought process, and class are what set the teams apart."
Notably, Bangladesh faced a heavy defeat against India after showcasing their dominance over Pakistan, losing the first Test in Chennai by 280 runs.
Ali praised the current Indian bowling unit, comparing them to legendary Pakistani bowlers like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar.
The Indian team is set to face Bangladesh in the second Test of the series on September 27 in Kanpur.
