Once again, Mayank shines; Bengaluru falters
In the first two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mayank Yadav earned the honor of being the man of the match. He has already caught the eye of the cricketing world. Mayank delivered one of the fastest balls in IPL history, clocking 156.7 kilometers per hour against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Discussions about this young fast bowler from Lucknow Super Giants are happening everywhere.
On Tuesday (April 2), in the match against Bengaluru, Mayank took 3 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs. With his precise bowling and pace, he outsmarted the batters. Mayank took the wickets of Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar.
Opting to bat first, Lucknow scored 181 runs losing 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Bengaluru stumbled to 153 runs in 19.4 overs. Virat Kohli's team lost the match by 28 runs.
Mayank, shining in bowling, said, "It feels good to be the man of the match in both matches. I am even happier that we have won both matches."
"My goal is to perform well for the country, and it can be done over many years. This is just the beginning. My main goal is in my mind."
Mayank particularly likes Green's wicket. He hits the outside edge directly onto the stumps. This batter had hit a boundary off the previous ball.
Mayank further commented, "To bring such pace, you have to do certain things. Like diet, sleep, training. Everything has to be right. I focus on my diet, along with my recovery, like taking an ice bath."
