New Zealand started Day 2 with 315 runs on the board, losing 9 wickets. On the second day, Mitchell Santner and William made a valuable partnership of 44 runs for the 10th wicket, facing 99 balls. However, New Zealand's innings ended at 347 when Matthew Potts dismissed Santner for 76 runs.
