Mustafizur Rahman made a fantastic start in the IPL (Indian Premier League) as a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player. In his debut match in the ongoing IPL, he took 4 wickets for 29 runs, earning the title of the match's best player. He also contributed with 2 wickets in the subsequent match, helping his team to victory.
Even though he only managed to take 1 wicket in his third and final match, Mustafizur proved to be a vital asset for his team, bagging a total of 7 wickets in 3 matches, making him the leading wicket-taker for Chennai Super Kings.
Following his remarkable performance, Mustafizur had to return to Bangladesh urgently. Primarily, he needed to complete visa-related procedures for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held in the United States and the West Indies.
As a result, the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5th did not feature this Bangladeshi star pacer. The absence of Mustafizur was felt by the team in that match.
Chennai coach Stephen Fleming said, "There's no doubt that we've missed him (Mustafizur) but it's part of the IPL. He's not here with the team, so he doesn't have the opportunity to play."
However, Chennai might have not to miss Mustafizur in the upcoming match. Because before the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at home, Mustafizur might reach Chennai. Today (April 7th), the flight to Chennai is scheduled for him.
If everything goes well, there's no reason for Chennai to not play Mustafizur in the match ahead.
Mustafizur's No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the ongoing IPL is valid until April 30. Apart from the match on April 8, Mustafizur will have the opportunity to play in the matches scheduled for April 14 (against Mumbai), April 19 (against Lucknow), April 23 (against Lucknow), and April 28 (against Hyderabad).
He will return home before the series against Zimbabwe.
