Mustafiz failed to be the Hero, Lucknow secured victory over Chennai

Mustafizur Rahman had the opportunity but failed to become the hero. It didn't happen. In the final over, his responsibility was to keep the opposition from scoring beyond 17 runs. However, despite a fierce effort on the field, Mustafiz couldn't resist the onslaught from Marcus Stoinis. Consequently, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Chennai had set a target of 211 runs. In the first over, Deepak Chahar dismissed Quinton de Kock. By the fifth over, KL Rahul also bid farewell after being dismissed by Mustafizur.

With a big target to chase, there was some pressure on Lucknow's side. However, Stoinis responded heavily with his bat. Devdutt Padikkal couldn't contribute much, returning after scoring only 13 runs. Even then, a partnership of 55 runs was formed with Stoinis. After Padikkal's departure, Windies star Nicholas Pooran joined Stoinis and accelerated the run rate further.

At one point, 87 runs were needed to win the match with 36 balls. Mustafizur took a wicket, conceding 13 runs in an over, and in the next over, Shardul Thakur gave 20 runs. Stoinis was shining brightly on the other end. In the end, Lucknow needed 17 runs to win.

Stoinis scored 124 runs off 63 balls in the innings, including 6 sixes and 13 fours. On the other hand, Thakur contributed with 17 runs off 6 balls, praised as a worthy partner. Before this, Ruturaj Gaikwad's innings in Ruturaj Gaikwad was the biggest talk of the Chennai's innings. Despite Ajinkya Rahane, Daryl Mitchell, and Ravindra Jadeja failing to make an impact with the bat, Ruturaj stood tall.

Ruturaj partnered with Shivam Dube to score 104 runs (47) and scored a total of 210 runs, losing 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In his innings, Ruturaj hit 12 fours and 3 sixes. Despite losing 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Chennai's collection stopped at 210 runs.
