Mohsin Sheikh Criticizes Bangladesh and Pakistan Cricket
Former Bangladesh national team performance analyst, Mohsin Sheikh, has once again stirred controversy with his criticism of both Bangladesh and Pakistan cricket. He criticized the team management's plans following the failure in the 2025 Champions Trophy, expressing surprise that no one from the board is willing to hold anyone accountable. According to him, the Tigers will now play series against Ireland and Zimbabwe to "wash the eyes" of the fans.
Bangladesh, under the captaincy of Najmul Hossain Shanto, failed to make any competition in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Both Bangladesh and Pakistan share similar failures in the tournament. In 2017, Pakistan won the Champions Trophy, while Bangladesh reached the semifinals. However, this time both teams were eliminated in the group stages.
On his personal Facebook profile, Mohsin Sheikh criticized both Bangladesh and Pakistan, writing: "Champions Trophy 2025 is over. Players will have to face punishment, but it is surprising that none of the decision-makers are willing to be held accountable. Bangladesh Cricket and PCB have had the same mindset, leading to the same outcome. Now, they will play series against Ireland and Zimbabwe to wash the eyes of the fans."
Earlier during the Champions Trophy, Mohsin Sheikh had mentioned that Bangladesh and Pakistan were quickly heading toward the path of Zimbabwe. Notably, Mohsin Sheikh worked as Bangladesh's performance analyst until the West Indies tour in December last year, after which his contract was not renewed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
A few days after Chandika Hathurusingha's dismissal, the BCB also parted ways with analyst Mohsin Sheikh. Before coming to Bangladesh, he had worked with the national teams of Afghanistan, Australia, and Pakistan. He also worked for the Khulna Tigers during the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
