Former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke has been inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. The 43-year-old became the 64th inductee to this prestigious list during a ceremony at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

Clarke enjoyed a stellar 12-year international career, playing 115 Test matches, 245 ODIs, and 34 T20Is. He captained Australia in 47 Tests, leading the team to a historic 5-0 Ashes victory in 2013-14 and a World Cup triumph on home soil in 2015.

Among his remarkable batting achievements, Clarke scored a memorable 151 runs in a Test match in Bengaluru. He registered 28 Test centuries for Australia, with standout innings including an unbeaten 329 against India, 151 in Cape Town, and 128 in Adelaide.

Expressing his gratitude for the honor, Clarke said, “It is a tremendous privilege to be included alongside so many incredible players, idols, and role models. People talk about the international career, but for me, it all started at the age of six. I retired at 34, but cricket has always been the central part of my life and continues to hold that place.”

Peter King, Chairman of the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame, praised Clarke’s exceptional career, stating, “Michael’s outstanding first-class career began at just 17 years of age at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He created many unforgettable moments here, including his triple century against India in 2012. His career will forever be cherished by the Australian public, and he has rightly earned his place among the greatest of all time.”

This recognition cements Clarke’s legacy as one of Australia’s most iconic cricketers.
