Match washed out, Islamabad and Peshawar share points
The match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore was abandoned due to a wet outfield, forcing both teams to share points. As a result, Islamabad earned their first point of the tournament, while Peshawar—featuring Tanzid Tamim, Nahid Rana and Shariful Islam—moved up to second place on the table with three points from two matches.
A severe thunderstorm struck Lahore before the toss, accompanied by heavy rain, strong winds and hail. The hour-long storm left large puddles across different parts of the ground. While the main pitch was covered, most of the outfield remained exposed and soaked.
After the rain stopped, ground staff made efforts to prepare the field. There was even a possibility of a five-over match near the scheduled time. However, as the conditions remained unfit for play, the match was eventually called off—marking the first washout of the tournament.
