Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) climb to the top of the points table in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with a massive victory of 98 runs against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. Despite playing one match more than Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata has secured 16 points like them. Currently, Shreyas Iyer’s team leads the table based on higher net run rate.
Having lost the toss on Sunday, Kolkata built a formidable total while batting first. They posted 235 runs on the scoreboard, losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Sunil Narine emerged as the top performer for the team, scoring 81 runs off 39 balls, followed by Phil Salt, who contributed 32 runs off 14 balls. With Raman Deep Singh playing an unbeaten cameo of 25 runs off 6 balls.
Kolkata's bowlers did not allow Lucknow to play freely. Harshith Rana and Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets each, while Andre Russell claimed two and Sunil Narine and Mitchell Starc took one wicket each.
