Khulna Tigers Beat Chittagong Kings by 37 Runs in BPL Match on the Last Day of the Year

On the final day of the year, Khulna Tigers defeated Chittagong Kings by 37 runs in an exciting BPL match. Thanks to powerful batting performances from William Bosisto and Mahidul Islam Ankon, Khulna Tigers set a total of 203/4. Chittagong Kings, chasing the big target, were dismissed for 166 runs, with Shamim Patowary's impressive knock failing to lead his team to victory.

After 9 seasons, Chittagong Kings couldn't mark their BPL return with a win. Despite an explosive 78-run innings from Shamim Hossain Patowary at a strike rate of over 200, his efforts were in vain as the team lost. On the other hand, Khulna’s pacer Abu Haider Roni was the star, claiming 4 wickets.

The Khulna Tigers vs. Chittagong Kings match started at 12 PM. Winning the toss, Chittagong captain Mohammad Mithun decided to field first. In the BPL debut match, William Bosisto hit a brilliant 50 off 36 balls, helping the team to surpass 200 runs. However, Khulna's opening partnership was broken when Naim Sheikh was dismissed for 26 runs from 17 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 1 four.

Captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz, coming in at number three, struggled with a slow knock of 18 runs from 18 balls. Afghan batter Ibrahim Zadran couldn't do much, managing just 6 runs. Ali Al Islam took the wicket of Afif Hossain (8 runs), claiming his second scalp. At 117/4, Khulna were momentarily in trouble, but they recovered well.

Mahidul Islam Ankon brought up his half-century off 18 balls and finished with a splendid 59 not out from 22 balls, which included 1 four and 6 sixes. Bosisto contributed 75 runs off 50 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes, leaving the field unbeaten.

Khulna Tigers set a target of 203/4 against Chittagong Kings. Chasing the target, Chittagong Kings started the first over facing Oshane Thomas, but his over became memorable for all the wrong reasons, as it included four no-balls and one wide. This over became a world record!

In the chase, Chittagong Kings were dismissed for just 166 runs before the required overs. The team from the port city started their tournament campaign with a defeat.
