After seven matches, Khulna Division secured their place in the NCL T20 playoffs with four wins. Mohammad Mithun’s brilliant 71 runs and Azizul Hakim Tamim’s 66-run knock powered Khulna to a commanding total of 195. Restricting Rangpur to 161, Khulna clinched victory by 34 runs.
In the afternoon match of the NCL T20 held at Sylhet’s Outer Ground, Nurul Hasan Sohan’s team secured a crucial win, earning a spot in the Eliminator match, where they will face Chattogram.
Rangpur fell short in their chase of the massive target. Khulna’s disciplined bowling ensured a 34-run victory. Rangpur captain Akbar Ali scored 52 runs, while Abdullah Al Mamun contributed 27 and opener Tanvir Haider added 26. However, no other batters could deliver a significant innings.
Earlier, in Khulna’s batting innings, Mohammad Mithun registered his first half-century of the tournament. Azizul Hakim Tamim also scored a fifty before being dismissed for 66 runs. Imrul Kayes played a quickfire unbeaten cameo of 40 runs off 19 balls. Contributions from Tamim, Mithun, and Imrul propelled Khulna to a formidable total of 195 runs.
