India's Batting Coach Dismisses Claims of Home Advantage in Champions Trophy
Despite claims that India has had an unfair advantage in the ICC Champions Trophy due to all their matches being held at the Dubai International Stadium, India's batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, has strongly rejected these accusations.
Earlier, both captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir had dismissed these allegations as baseless. Kotak echoed their sentiments, emphasizing that India’s consistent performance is the real reason behind such claims.
During a practice session in Dubai on Friday, Kotak stated, "I don’t understand what kind of advantage has been gained here! Our team has played according to the scheduled fixtures. If someone thinks that winning four matches and reaching the final means we’ve had an advantage, then I have nothing more to say. To win matches, you need to play good cricket every day. Without playing well, no one can win a match just by advantage."
He further clarified, "We’ve practiced and played in Dubai, but the practice wickets and the match wickets are different. We played where it was scheduled to, and it’s not like ICC changed anything after we arrived here to give us a special advantage."
India will face New Zealand in the final of the Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. As the controversy fades into the background, Rohit Sharma’s team is determined to maintain their winning streak and lift the trophy.
