India has reached the Super Eight stage from Group 'A' with three consecutive wins. The United States experienced their first defeat in the World Cup, losing to Rohit Sharma's team by 7 wickets in New York. Despite the efforts of their compatriot Saurabh Netravalkar, who challenged the likes of Kohli and Rohit, India achieved a comfortable victory thanks to a match-winning partnership of 67 runs between Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube. Before this, Arshdeep Singh's swing and pace took 4 wickets for just 9 runs, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first. On the very first delivery of the innings, Arshdeep Singh dismissed opener Shayan Jahangir. Arshdeep took another wicket on the last ball of the over, sending number three Andres Gous back for 2 runs. Arshdeep's first over ended with two wickets for just 3 runs, giving India a flying start in New York.

The United States didn't lose any more wickets in the first power play, but they only managed to score 18 runs. Captain Aaron Jones could only make 11 runs off 22 balls. Another opener, Steven Taylor, managed a 24-run innings, stretching the team's total. Nitish Kumar, who supported him, scored 27 runs off 23 balls, which was the highest individual score in the United States' innings.

After Nitish Kumar, Arshdeep also took the wicket of Harmeet Singh. He completed his 4-over quota with 4 wickets for just 9 runs. In the end, the United States scored 110 runs for 8 wickets.

There were predictions that Saurabh Netravalkar, who had played in the Under-19 World Cup for India, could be a significant challenge for the Indian batters. This proved true as he gave Virat Kohli a golden duck. For the first time in the T20 World Cup, Kohli was dismissed without scoring on the first ball. Kohli has been in poor form, having scored only 1 run off 5 balls against Ireland and 4 runs against Pakistan, before getting out on the first ball against the United States.

India faced an early setback in the chase. Netravalkar, in his second over, dismissed Rohit Sharma as well, who scored just 3 runs off 6 balls, making him Netravalkar's second victim. India lost their second wicket at 10 runs in 2.2 overs.

After the power play, Rishabh Pant, who came in at number three, was bowled for 18 runs. However, India did not face any further trouble. Thanks to the unbeaten 50 from Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube's 31 runs off 35 balls, India secured a comfortable 7-wicket victory with 10 balls to spare. With three consecutive wins, India advanced to the Super Eight stage as the top team from their group.
