From the beginning to the end of their tour to India, Bangladesh has been left in a dire situation. After losing the Test series, Bangladesh has now been whitewashed in the T20 series as well. Experienced player Mahmudullah Riyad’s departure and the defeat in the match aimed at avoiding a whitewash resulted in the team suffering its biggest loss in this format. Chasing India’s total of 297 runs, Bangladesh could only manage 164 runs.

With a massive defeat by 133 runs, Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s team concluded the series. Today’s match marks India’s third-highest victory in terms of runs in international T20 cricket.

In their chase of the record target of 298 runs, Bangladesh lost opener Parvez Hossain Emon on the very first ball, falling to a golden duck. Another opener, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, was dismissed after scoring just 15 runs off 12 balls.

Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto also had a dismal performance, scoring only 14 runs off 11 balls, further sinking the team’s hopes. Meanwhile, Liton Das struck five boundaries in a single over from Nitish Kumar Reddy. After the powerplay of 6 overs, Bangladesh stood at 59 runs with the loss of 3 wickets.

Mahmudullah Riyad, in his farewell match, managed only 8 runs, facing 9 balls. Following his dismissal, Sheikh Mehdi also fell for just 3 runs off 9 balls. However, Towhid Hridoy fought valiantly, scoring a fifty off 35 balls, remaining not out at 63 runs by the end.

Bangladesh ended their innings at 164 runs, losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
