India are facing obstacles in returning home
After their World Cup victory in Barbados, the Indian team's return to the country has been disrupted by Hurricane Beryl. The airport is closed due to the hurricane's impact, leaving Rohit Sharma and the team stranded at their hotel. Despite winning the World Cup, they have to stay an extra day in Barbados, with the BCCI altering plans due to the hurricane warning.
Hurricane Beryl has become a significant obstacle for the Indian team's return journey. The team is now expected to stay an additional day in Bridgetown. Initially, the plan was for the team to fly to New York and then take an Emirates flight to Mumbai.
However, the BCCI is now considering alternative arrangements. They are thinking of reserving a charter flight from the United States directly to India. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is overseeing the situation, ensuring that the airport will remain open despite the hurricane warnings before confirming any travel plans.
India secured the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa by 7 wickets in the final. Following the World Cup victory, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from international T20 cricket. While fans will no longer see these three stalwarts in T20 internationals, they will continue to enjoy watching them in 50-over and Test matches.
