India ALL OUT for 150
In the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, India's batting line-up collapsed under the pressure of Australian pacers, failing to last even two full sessions. India was bowled out for just 150 runs, with only a few players managing to reach double digits. Had it not been for contributions from Lokesh Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and lower-order batsman Nitish Kumar Reddy, India might have been dismissed for under 100 runs.
After losing the toss, Australia took control with the ball. India's batting crumbled in just 49.4 overs, with only four out of the eleven batsmen managing to score in double figures. Nitish Reddy, making his debut, emerged as the team's mainstay, contributing with a valuable 41 runs off 59 balls.
Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal, as well as number three batter Shubman Gill, all failed to get off the mark. The highest scorer for India was Nitish Reddy, followed by Rishabh Pant with 37 runs and Lokesh Rahul with 26. Apart from these three, only Dhruv Jurel managed to reach double figures. In total, only four Indian batsmen crossed ten runs.
On the Australian bowling side, the most successful bowler was Josh Hazlewood, who took four wickets for just 29 runs in 13 overs. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Marsh all took two wickets each, further dampening India's chances of building a solid score
