Imran Tahir Accuses Rangpur Riders of Breach of Contract in BPL
South African bowler Imran Tahir has raised serious allegations against the Rangpur Riders franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Tahir, who played for Rangpur in the most recent BPL season, has claimed that the franchise has failed to pay him the full amount of his contract.
This year, Rangpur Riders are participating in the Global Super League, but Tahir is playing for Guyana instead of Rangpur. In the early hours of the match between these two teams, Rangpur Riders secured a victory. However, before the match, during the toss, Imran Tahir expressed his frustration with Rangpur Riders.
Speaking live on television during the toss, Tahir said, "I want to win this match for personal reasons. I played for Rangpur Riders in the last BPL season, and I still haven’t received all the money from my contract."
This is not the first time Imran Tahir has complained about not receiving payment. Last year, he made similar allegations against the Sylhet franchise. At that time, he stated:
"I played for Sylhet in the 2019 BPL. But my experience here was not good. Although I came to play for Sylhet, the team did not accept me well. They didn’t pay me a single penny. Because of this, I never wanted to come back to play in the BPL. I’ve received many offers since then, but Rangpur is different in this regard. They are very professional."
As of now, no official response has been received from Rangpur Riders regarding Imran Tahir’s claims.
