Hyderabad’s Run Fest: IPL Feels Like a Video Game
Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs in a high-scoring IPL encounter. Batting first, Hyderabad posted a massive total of 286 runs, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s century. In response, Rajasthan managed 242 runs in their allotted overs.
Hyderabad’s Batting Storm
After losing the toss, Hyderabad’s openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head got off to a flying start. Abhishek was dismissed after scoring 24 off 11 balls, while Head smashed 67 off just 31 deliveries, hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes.
The real fireworks began with Ishan Kishan, who launched an all-out assault, especially against Jofra Archer. Nitish Kumar Reddy provided some support, scoring 30 off 15 balls, before Heinrich Klaasen added a blistering 34 off 14 balls at the end. However, the star of the show was Ishan Kishan, who remained unbeaten on 106 off 47 balls, hitting 11 fours and 6 sixes. Hyderabad ended their innings at 286/6.
Rajasthan’s Bowling Nightmare
Rajasthan’s bowlers had a forgettable outing. Tushar Deshpande picked up 3 wickets for 44 runs, while Maheesh Theekshana took 2 wickets for 52 runs. However, Jofra Archer had the worst day, conceding 76 runs, making him the most expensive bowler in IPL history.
Rajasthan’s Struggle in Chase
Chasing a mammoth target, Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for just 1 run off 5 balls. Riyan Parag and Nitish Rana also failed to make an impact, leaving Rajasthan struggling at 50/3.
However, Dhruv Jurel (70) and Sanju Samson (66) put up a 111-run partnership off 60 balls, keeping Rajasthan’s hopes alive. Later, Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dube tried to accelerate, but the required run rate was too high. Rajasthan ultimately fell short, finishing at 242/6.
For Hyderabad, Simarjeet Singh and Harshal Patel took two wickets each, sealing a comfortable victory.
It was another high-scoring thriller in IPL 2024, making the tournament feel more like a video game than a real cricket match!
