Sunrisers Hyderabad leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to a chronic heel pain in his left foot.
The Sri Lankan cricket star Wanindu Hasaranga will not be joining Sunrisers Hyderabad camp for IPL. This news of his absence in the IPL has been confirmed by the franchise through Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Sunrisers Hyderabad is now looking for an alternative to Hasaranga, although they haven't announced any names yet.
Hasaranga played limited-overs cricket against Bangladesh in March.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had bought Hasaranga for 15 million Indian rupees. Before this, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022 where he was bought for 107.5 million rupees. In that season, he took 26 wickets at an economy rate of 7.54. In the 2023 IPL season, he played 8 matches, taking 9 wickets with an economy rate of 8.9.
