Former All-Rounder Dion Nash Appointed as Director of New Zealand Cricket

Former all-rounder Dion Nash has been appointed as the new director of New Zealand Cricket. He fills the vacancy left by Martin Snedden in this position. Martin Snedden, who has held various roles including player, CEO, board member, chairman, and ICC director, has retired after serving in multiple capacities over an extended period.

New Zealand Cricket’s chairman, Diana Pukeepatu-Lyndon, said, "It’s great to have someone like Dion, who brings both cricket and business experience to the board at a time when Martin is stepping down. Dion has a strong interest not only in playing cricket but also in the business side of cricket, and this will help us be in a strong position moving forward."

Dion Nash played 32 Test matches and 81 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for the New Zealand national cricket team between 1993 and 2002. He was also part of the New Zealand team that won the ICC KnockOut Trophy in 2000, a tournament later renamed the ICC Champions Trophy. In his fifth Test match, he scored a half-century at Lord’s and took ten wickets.

In the early months of 1999, when New Zealand's regular captain Stephen Fleming was injured, Nash served as captain in seven ODIs and three Tests. After retiring from playing, he was appointed as a selector for the team in 2005
