Explosive English batter Jason Roy joins Dhaka Capitals' den

The Dhaka Capitals have become a highly talked-about team in this season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). With renowned Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan as the face of the franchise, excitement around the Dhaka team is at an all-time high. As the tournament kicks off today, the Dhaka Capitals delivered another thrilling announcement yesterday—England’s World Cup-winning big-hitter, Jason Roy, will light up the BPL in their jersey.

The Dhaka Capitals officially confirmed Jason Roy’s inclusion in the team via social media on Sunday, December 29. The English star, known for his aggressive batting, is expected to join the squad very soon.

This season, the Dhaka Capitals have built a formidable team by including top domestic talents such as Mustafizur Rahman, Liton Das, and Tanzid Hasan Tamim. Alongside them, the franchise has also signed notable foreign players like Caribbean powerhouse Johnson Charles, Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera, Zahoor Khan, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Saim Ayub. The team will be led by head coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon.

The Dhaka Capitals will play five of their home matches at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur during the 2025 BPL. The remaining seven group-stage matches will be held in Sylhet and Chattogram. The team is set to play on the tournament’s opening day, facing Rangpur Riders in their first match.
