England Announce White-Ball Squads for Upcoming Series Against Australia
For the upcoming series against Australia, England has announced their white-ball squads for both ODIs and T20Is. Notably, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, and Chris Jordan have been left out of both the ODI and T20I squads. All three players were part of England's squad in the recent T20 World Cup. Despite the absence of these experienced players, the T20 squad includes five uncapped players.
The England squads for the series against Australia see some big names missing. However, regular white-ball captain Jos Buttler and premier pacer Jofra Archer are returning to the field. Brydon Carse has made a comeback to England's senior squad after serving a three-month ban from all formats of cricket.
The T20I squad features five uncapped players: Jordan Cox, Jacob Bethell, Dan Mousley, Josh Hall, and John Turner. Josh Hall, who was added to the Test squad yesterday, is also included in the ODI squad along with uncapped players Bethell and Turner.
Harry Brook, Matthew Potts, Gus Atkinson, and Jamie Smith, who are part of the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, will only feature in the ODIs. Joe Root, however, has been rested from the ODI squad.
The three-match T20I series will begin on September 11, followed by a five-match ODI series starting on September 19 at Trent Bridge.
