Durbar Rajshahi Explains Decision for Players to Leave Team Hotel

Durbar Rajshahi, with six wins from 12 matches and 12 points, remains in contention for a spot in the playoffs. However, the team will have to wait a few more days for confirmation. In the meantime, a new issue has arisen: the franchise has instructed local players staying in Dhaka to vacate the team hotel.

The franchise has been in the spotlight for various controversies, including not paying players on time, an embarrassing situation in Chittagong where hotel bills went unpaid, and foreign players boycotting matches due to unpaid salaries. The latest controversy involves the decision to have local players leave the hotel. According to the franchise, this decision was made at the players' request.

In a statement, the franchise clarified: "After several players' requests, Durbar Rajshahi management has decided to grant them a three-day break. The request came mainly from the local players residing in Dhaka. However, players from outside Dhaka will continue to stay at the team hotel along with foreign players and coaching staff. Local players from Dhaka can also check into the team hotel at any time."

Despite the ongoing issues, Durbar Rajshahi has performed well in the ongoing BPL, with six wins in their 12 matches, securing the third spot on the points table. Their chances of qualifying for the playoffs remain high, but they must wait for other franchises to finish their league matches.

With all their group-stage matches completed, Rajshahi is still in the race for a playoff spot, but will have to rely on other teams' performances. If Rajshahi fails to qualify, they will not have any more matches in the current BPL season.
