Dhaka Metro Extends Winning Streak, Defeats Dhaka Division by 19 Runs in NCL T20

Dhaka Metro continued their impressive run in the NCL T20, securing their fourth consecutive victory by defeating Dhaka Division by 19 runs. With this win, they have risen to the top of the points table, surpassing Rangpur.

The match was held at the Sylhet Outer Ground, where Dhaka Metro batted first and set a challenging target of 190 runs. Captain Naim Sheikh played a stellar role, scoring 69 runs off 54 balls, including 8 boundaries and 1 six. Shamsur Rahman Shuvo provided valuable support with a quick 43 runs. Despite losing quick wickets, Naim's leadership ensured Dhaka Metro posted a formidable total.

Dhaka Division's chase began on a tough note, losing their captain Saif Hasan early for just 1 run. However, Rony Talukdar and Ariful Islam steadied the ship with a 51-run partnership. Rony's 39 off 19 balls and Ariful's 42 (3 sixes, 2 fours) seemed to be bringing them closer to the target. But wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, with Mahidul Islam Ankon (8) and Shubagoto Home (14) departing soon after.

In the final over, Dhaka Division needed 27 runs to win. Shahidul Islam was entrusted with the ball, and while Suman Khan hit a six off the first delivery, Shahidul made a strong comeback by getting a dot ball next. Suman then ran a single, but the pressure mounted as Arafat Sunny was caught for 29 runs, leaving Dhaka Division needing 20 runs from the last two balls. New batter Iqbal Hasan Imon failed to score, and Dhaka Metro sealed a thrilling 19-run victory.

This victory marks Dhaka Metro's fourth consecutive win in the tournament, and they now sit at the top of the points table, showcasing their dominance in the NCL T20.
