Chittagong Kings' Victory Secured by Alis Al Islam's Quickfire Innings After Khawaja Nafay's Solid 57 Against Khulna Tigers
Khawaja Nafay's steady 57-run innings played a pivotal role in Chittagong Kings' path to victory against Khulna Tigers. Despite several wickets falling, Khawaja Nafay remained composed and formed a crucial 70-run partnership with Hossain Talat. However, it was Aliss Al Islam's quick-fire 17 runs off just 7 balls that sealed the deal for Chittagong Kings, guiding them to a much-needed victory.
In the post-match press conference, Khawaja Nafay was asked about Alis’s contribution. He shared, "There was faith in Alis from the team. He had scored runs in previous matches, and everyone believed he could hit a big shot. So, we trusted him."
Khawaja Nafay also discussed Alis’s injury, which occurred while he was batting. Alis had to leave the field due to a foot injury but was called back to play the final ball. Nafe explained, "He had pain in his foot and couldn’t take any runs. That’s when Shariful went on to hit a four. In the end, Alis was the only option left for us. We were hoping he could hit a six."
Expressing gratitude for contributing to his team’s victory, Nafay said, "It's a big match, the semi-final. I wanted to score well and contribute to the team’s success. I thank Allah for this. I feel great, it’s an amazing feeling."
Looking ahead to the final against Fortune Barishal, Khawaja Nafay acknowledged the pressure of the upcoming match, saying, "The final will be a pressure-packed game. Both teams will feel the pressure because it’s the final. We’ll make our plans according to the situation. For now, we’ll take a little rest and discuss the final strategies when the time comes."
