In the Champions One-Day Cup, five captains have been selected: Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Saud Shakeel, and Mohammad Haris. Mohammad Haris will lead a team that also includes Pakistan's white-ball captain Babar Azam.
The Champions One-Day Cup is a domestic cricket league in Pakistan. The tournament will be held from September 12 to September 29 at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The tournament will conclude just eight days before the start of the first Test between Pakistan and England.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Saud Shakeel, and Mohammad Haris have been announced as captains for the Lions, Wolves, Panthers, Dolphins, and Stallions, respectively.
Each of the five teams in the Champions One-Day Cup has a designated leader. Mohammad Haris, the captain of the Stallions, will have Shoaib Malik as the team’s advisor.
Previously, five former cricketers were appointed as mentors for three years: Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, and Waqar Younis. Among them, Sarfaraz Ahmed is the only player-mentor, working in that role with the Dolphins. The remaining mentors are Misbah (Wolves), Malik (Stallions), Saqlain Mushtaq (Panthers), and Waqar Younis (Lions).
