For the first time in a T20 World Cup, Bangladesh won three matches in the main stage and reached the Super Eight. However, the Tigers were eliminated after losing all three Super Eight matches. In the final match, a win against Afghanistan within 12.1 overs would have secured a semifinal spot. Unfortunately, this was not achieved due to the batters' failure.

Throughout the tournament, Bangladesh's batters failed to deliver consistently. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto also couldn't lead from the front, resulting in disappointment among fans, which the captain acknowledged.

After the loss to Afghanistan and their subsequent exit, Shanto apologized to fans for the poor batting performance during the press conference, expressing regret on behalf of the whole team.

In the press conference, Najmul Hossain Shanto said:

"As a team, we have let down all the fans of Bangladesh. We have disappointed those who follow our games and always support us. I apologize on behalf of the team. Especially the batting group, we could not give the people of our country anything good. We feel sorry for that. We will try to find a way out of this situation going forward."

However, Shanto highlighted the positive aspect of the bowlers' performance despite the disappointing World Cup campaign, particularly praising leg-spinner Rishad Hossain.

Shanto said:

"The positive aspect is that the bowlers performed very well. Rishad bowled well throughout the tournament, in almost every match. There were quite a few positives."

"But the batting group has let everyone down, and we have caused pain to the people of our country. Though there was no lack of effort, in the end, we couldn't achieve it. For that, I apologize on behalf of the team."
