The auction for the 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be held today (30 November). All six franchises will participate in the auction at a five-star hotel in Dhaka as they look to build their squads for the new season.

A total of 158 local and 267 foreign cricketers have been listed for the auction, from which teams will finalize their squads. Combined, the franchises are set to sign at least 84 players from the auction.

Ahead of the auction, 12 local and 11 foreign players have already been signed through direct signings.

BPL Auction Schedule

Date: 30 November 2025 (Sunday)

Venue: Grand Ballroom, Radisson Blu Water Garden, Dhaka

Start Time: 4:00 PM (BST)

The auction will be broadcast live on T Sports from 4:00 PM.
Additionally, the BCB YouTube Channel will stream the event live.

BPL Auction Rules and Regulations

Retention Rules

Each team may retain up to 2 local and 2 foreign players from BPL seasons 13 to 16.

If any new franchise joins in season 13, they may directly sign 2 local and 2 foreign players.

Category A: 50 lakh

Bid Increment Rules

A Category: +5 lakh per bid

B Category: +3 lakh

C Category: +1 lakh

D/E/F Categories: +50,000 per bid

Squad Requirement (Local Players)

Each franchise (excluding direct signings) must pick minimum 12 and maximum 14 local players from the auction.

Mandatory picks:

At least 2 players from A & B categories combined

At least 6 players from C & D categories

At least 4 players from E & F categories

Purse Amount

Each team can spend up to 4.5 crore BDT for local players (excluding direct signings).

Unsold Player Re-auction

If a player goes unsold in the main auction:

Their category will be downgraded by one (except F category).

A separate re-auction will be held for these players.

FOREIGN PLAYER AUCTION (USD)

Bid Increments

A Category: +$5,000 per bid

Foreign Player Quota

A team may sign unlimited foreign players,

But must pick at least 2 foreign players from the auction.

Purse Amount

A maximum budget of $350,000 USD (including direct signings) for foreign players.

Squad Composition Rules

Maximum 16 local players, of which minimum 12 must be from the auction.

Maximum 2 direct signings (local) and 2 direct signings (foreign) allowed.

Playing XI must include minimum 2 and maximum 4 foreign players.

Total squad size: maximum 22 players.

Each team may appoint up to 12 officials.

Final squad must be submitted to the Governing Council within 24 hours of the auction.

Player Payment Structure

25% — at the start of the contract

50% — before the last league match

25% — before the tournament ends

Fitness Requirement

Every player must pass a fitness test within 48 hours after joining the team.
