The 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to begin on December 30, and Khulna Tigers will be one of the teams aiming to make their mark in the tournament. Khulna will play their first match on December 31 against Chittagong Kings in Dhaka. With a strong squad comprising both local and international players, Khulna will be looking to make a splash in this year’s edition of the BPL. The team will play four matches in Chattogram, all starting at 6:30 PM, while their final three matches will be played in Dhaka in the afternoon.
Khulna’s campaign will begin in Dhaka with two matches, followed by three matches in Sylhet. After the Sylhet phase, the team will head to Chattogram for the maximum number of matches (4), before returning to Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium for their final three matches of the league phase.
Khulna Tigers have retained key players such as Afif Hossain and Nasum Ahmed. Additionally, they have signed star all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz through direct signing. In the draft, they added experienced batters like Imrul Kayes, Naim Sheikh, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, and Mahidul Ankon. The team will also feature Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbie, captain of Bangladesh's Under-19 team, and all-rounder Ziaur Rahman.
In pace bowling, Khulna will rely on Hasan Mahmud, Abu Haider Rony, and foreign pacers Mohammad Hasnain (Pakistan), Oshane Thomas (West Indies), and Salman Irshad (Pakistan). Mohammad Nawaz, a star spinner from Pakistan, will also play for Khulna, along with Lewis Gregory (England). In the batting department, Ibrahim Zadran and Darwish Rasooli from Afghanistan will strengthen the side.
