Gradually, Mumbai Indians are returning to the flow of victories. The team achieved its second victory of the season in the ongoing monsoon, comfortably defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Bengaluru set a target of 197 runs to bat first, but Mumbai Indians quickly reached the victory mark in just 15.3 overs, led by Hardik Pandya. The fierce batting display saw all key batters contributing, clinching victory with 27 balls to spare.

Bengaluru tasted the bitter flavor of defeat in all their last four matches. Despite setting a formidable target against Mumbai, they failed to defend it. Losing the toss and batting first, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal returned swiftly. Although these two batsmen returned with single-digit scores, the team captain, Faf du Plessis, shone brightly.

Following them was Rajat Patidar at number four. Du Plessis and Patidar built a strong partnership for the team. Patidar bid farewell after scoring fifty runs. His quick 26-ball fifty boosted Bengaluru's innings.

Meanwhile, Du Plessis halted at 61 runs off 40 balls. Amidst the other batters struggle to regain form, Dinesh Karthik showcased a brilliant performance. Karthik remained unbeaten at 53 runs off 23 balls.

With just four overs, Jasprit Bumrah alone took five wickets, conceding 21 runs.

In response, Mumbai started aggressively from the outset. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma together scored 72 runs without losing a wicket in the first six overs. The team achieved the century mark in just 8.3 overs.

Kishan returned after scoring 69 runs off 34 balls. Following him was Rohit, who contributed 39 runs off 24 balls to the team's total. Surprisingly, Suryakumar Yadav wreaked havoc on Bengaluru's bowlers. Despite returning empty-handed in the first match due to injury, he scored 52 runs off 19 balls in this game.

When the team reached 176 runs, only 13.3 overs had been bowled. Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma wrapped up the rest. Pandya remained unbeaten at 21 runs off 6 balls, while Varma scored 16 runs off 10 balls.

Mumbai Indians secured victory with 7 wickets in just 15.3 overs.
